Steps to enroll FastPass on your Mac device.

These instructions will guide you through enrolling in Okta FastPass, a seamless authentication method designed to enhance security and streamline access, on Windows 11 and macOS (Sequoia/Sonoma). For this document, 'Okta FastPass,' 'FastPass,' and 'Okta Verify' are used interchangeably.

What Happens If You Don’t Enroll

You must complete mandatory enrollment for any devices used for MassMutual business. Unenrolled devices will lose access to firm systems, including Compass.

Before you begin:

• You must have Okta Verify setup on your mobile device.
  • Click this link, Okta Verify Mobile, for those instructions and scroll to the heading - Step 2: Set Up Okta Verify on Your New Mobile Device.
• You must have Okta Verify installed on your Windows or macOS device. This is automatically installed via WorkSpace ONE (WS1) Intelligent Hub. Check for the Okta Verify app in your Start Menu (Windows) or Launch Pad (macOS).

• Okta Verify (FastPass for desktop) confirms your identity when you sign in to our accounts and ensures you access secure websites, making data more secure. Plus, it’s a better, simpler sign-on experience, you'll login to your device without always needing two-factor authentication.

Quick Reference: Windows and macOS Setup:

1. Open the Okta Verify app.
2. Click Get Started.
3. Select Next > Next.
4. Check your browser for an open Okta verification page and complete the verification process.
5. When prompted for Touch ID, choose Skip or Not Now.
6. You’ll see Account Added enrollment is complete!
7. Test your verification by logging in and choosing Okta FastPass under the Verify with something else option.

Test Authentication: Verify Okta Token with FastPass:

After completing setup, you must confirm that your device is registered with Okta using FastPass. This ensures the device is marked as trusted and has the required token.

Standard Verification

1. Open a web browser and sign in to https://massmutual.okta.com/.
2. When the Okta sign-in screen appears, you may see your last-used verification method (for example, Okta Verify push).
3. Do not use the default method. Instead, scroll down and click “Verify with something else” (this link appears just below the blue Verify button).
4. Complete the Okta FastPass verification.
5. Once you complete FastPass verification, you’re all set. Nothing else is required.

If You Don’t See the MFA Prompt

(Use this if you are logged in automatically and don’t get an MFA prompt.)

1. Sign in to https://massmutual.okta.com.
2. After authenticating, click your name in the upper-right corner and choose "Settings".
3. Click Edit Profile, then select Use Okta FastPass.
4. Do not use the default method. Instead, scroll down and click “Verify with something else” (this link appears just below the blue Verify button).
5. Complete the Okta FastPass verification.
6. Once you complete FastPass verification, you’re all set. Nothing else is required.
7. Select the "Back to Settings" (top left) or close your browser tab.

Force FastPass via Compass Tool Selector

(Use this if you are logged in automatically and don’t get an MFA prompt.)

1. Sign in to https://massmutual.okta.com.
2. After authenticating, click Compass.
3. From the Compass homepage, click the dots next to the search icon in the top toolbar to open the tool selector.
4. Type Okta in the search field.
5. Click the Okta Device Enrollment Tool tile.
6. Complete the Okta FastPass verification.
7. Once you complete FastPass verification, you’re all set. Nothing else is required.

Windows 11 Instructions:

Open or Install​​ Okta FastPass: Windows 11

• First determine if the app is installed or if you need to access Intelligent Hub to download it.
  • Open Windows search and enter Okta Verify and launch it if installed.

• If not found, click on the Hub icon in the Apple menu bar > Launch Intelligent Hub > Locate Okta FastPass > Install > Open.

Configure Okta FastPass: Windows 11

• New Account > Next

• Check your browser for an open Okta verification page and verify.

• Once verified, you will see, Your identity is verified.

• Click Skip or Not now for Touch ID.

• Your account has been added. Your device is enrolled in Okta FastPass. You will also receive an email from Okta verifying your enrollment.

 

macOS Instructions:

Open or Install FastPass: macOS

• First, determine if the app is installed or if you need to access Intelligent Hub to download it. 
  • Open Spotlight, search for Okta Verify, and launch it if installed.

• If not found, click on the Hub icon in the Apple menu bar > Launch Intelligent Hub > Locate Okta FastPass > Install > Open.

• New Account > Next

• Check your browser for an open Okta verification page and verify.

• Once verified, you will see, Your identity is verified.

• Click Skip or Not now for Touch ID.
