Having the right tools is essential for getting any job done. Deciding on the appropriate device to use in your practice is critical, too. The Charter Oak tech team is here to help you determine which device is best for you.
Newer, business-class devices easily meet our device requirements. MassMutual has contracted with Dell, HP, Microsoft, and Apple to offer attractive pricing on these computers. Consulting with the Charter Oak tech team on your next purchase will save you time and money. Certain hardware sales at your local box store may seem to save you on the initial investment but often require upgrades that cost you more.
Included are benefits for devices purchased through Dell’s Premier Site.
- A three-year on-site warranty.
- Microsoft Windows 10 Pro or Windows 11 Pro operating system and pre-installed software, saving you valuable setup time.
- Confidence that the hardware will support all MassMutual sales tools. The MassMutual tech team is continually testing its software on the Dell standard device configurations.
- Unlimited support at all levels (Dell, MassMutual home office, and Charter Oak).
Other purchase options are through the Microsoft Purchasing Portal, HP Purchasing Portal, and Apple Purchasing Portal, all of which are accessible under your Okta Portal.
Encryption
- All devices used to access MassMutual’s systems, i.e., laptops, desktops, mobile devices, are required to be onboarded and encrypted before accessing MassMutual systems.
- The Charter Oak tech team is required to completes onboarding and encryption. Requests can be made via our Calendly link, Charter Oak Tech Calendly
- Some MassMutual systems will deny access if your device is not properly encrypted or onboarded.

Dell Warranty
- Dells purchased through the MassMutual portal include a 3 Year Dell ProSupport on site warranty. You have the option for adding ProSupport Plus which includes accidental damage coverage.

Existing Devices
- If you have a current computer, it must meet, or be better than, the following criteria:
- Intel i5 (9th generation) or higher for desktops and laptops
- 16 GB Memory
- 256 GB SSD hard drive
- 10/100/1000 Ethernet network card
- Running a minimum operating system of:
- Windows 11 Pro 22H2+
- Mac OS Sonoma 14.1.1
- Mac OS Ventura 13.6.2
- Mobile devices must be running:
- iOS 16.7 or higher for Apple iPhones and iPads
- OS 12 or higher for Android devices, with a Android Security Patch Level < 120 days old
- Note: The Remarkable 2 tablet, Microsoft Surface Pro X, and other Windows ARM based devices are not supported and not approved for use.
