Troubleshooting common OneDrive sync issues

Body

Overview

OneDrive can from time to time get out of Sync. If your local client isn't showing all your folders, please try the following.

Pause/Resume OneDrive Sync

  1. Right-click the OneDrive icon on the taskbar (or menubar/system tray/area next to your clock).
  2. Click the Gear > Pause Syncing > Choose how long you wish to pause (doesn't matter)
  3. Wait for the icon to show the Pause Icon, then click it again and select Resume Synching.
  4. Give OneDrive 45-120 minutes to process changes.
  5. If you still don't see your folders, try the next step.

Sign Out and back in to OneDrive.

  1. Right-click the OneDrive icon on the taskbar (or menu bar/system tray/area next to your clock).
  2. Click the Gear > Settings > Account > Unlink this PC > Unlink account
  3. Give it time to sign you out (this can take a few minutes).
  4. Once you have been signed out, you should see the "Sign in" option in Onedrive.
  5. When prompted to sign in, make sure you use your financialguide.com email address.
  6. You will be prompted to select to use the same folder.  Don't change the location and select "Use this folder"
  7. When prompted to select your back up options, make sure all folders are enabled.
  8. Follow the rest of the prompts through the wizard.
  9. Give OneDrive 45-120 minutes to sync and see if your issue is resolved.
  10. If you still have problems, please email help@charteroakfinancial.com requesting assistance.
