Moving Okta Verify and Workspace ONE to a New Mobile Device (Phone or Tablet)

If you're upgrading or replacing your mobile device, follow these steps to successfully move your Dual Factor Authentication (DFA) and Mobile Device Management (MDM) setup. This ensures continued access to work email, calendar and other apps.

Step 1: Unenroll Okta Verify and Workspace ONE from Your Old Device

Before setting up your new device, you must unenroll your old device from both Okta Verify and Workspace ONE.


Okta Verify – Choose One of These Methods:

Option A: Remove Okta Verify via the Okta Website

  1. On another device (i.e. Laptop or Desktop) , go to: https://massmutual.okta.com

  2. Click your name in the top-right corner, then go to Settings.

  3. Scroll to the Security Methods section.

  4. Under Okta Verify, locate your old mobile device and click Remove.

  5. Authenticate when prompted to confirm the removal.

Then, to re-enroll Okta Verify on your new device:

  1. While still on your other device (e.g., a laptop or desktop), return to https://massmutual.okta.com, go to Settings > Security Methods, and click Set Up next to Okta Verify.

  2. On your new phone, open Okta Verify:

    • Tap Add Account > Organization > Scan QR Code

    • Allow Camera and Notifications if prompted

  3. Use your new phone to scan the QR code displayed on your other device’s screen to complete setup.


Option B: Migrate from Another Device Using the Okta Verify App

(Requires access to your old device)

  1. On your new phone, install the Okta Verify app from the App Store or Google Play.

  2. Open the app and tap Add Account from Another Device.

  3. Allow Bluetooth access if prompted.

  4. You’ll be instructed to open the Okta Verify app on your old phone.

  5. On your old phone:

    • Open Okta Verify

    • Tap your massmutual.okta.com account

    • Scroll down and select Add Account to Another Device

    • A QR code will appear for the transfer

  6. On your new phone, scan the QR code displayed on your old device.

  7. The account will be added to your new phone, but it will remain active on your old device.

  8. To complete the process, return to your old phone, tap the massmutual.okta.com account, scroll down, and select Remove Account.


Workspace ONE - Choose One of These Methods:

Note: The app may appear as “Hub” or “Intelligent Hub” depending on enrollment status (they’re the same app).

Option A: Unenroll via the Hub App

  1. Open the Hub / Intelligent Hub app on your old device.

  2. Tap Support in the bottom-right corner.

  3. Under My Devices, select the device you want to unenroll.

  4. Tap Enrollment, then choose Unenroll Device.

  5. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete unenrollment.


Option B: Unenroll via the Workspace ONE Self-Service Portal

  1. Go to: https://massmutual.okta.com

  2. Select the Workspace ONE Self-Service Portal.

  3. Ensure your old device is powered on and connected to Wi-Fi or cellular.

  4. Locate your old device (use the left/right arrows to browse).

  5. Select the device, then choose Enterprise Wipe.

  6. You’ll see a notification on your old device when the work profile has been removed.


Step 2: Set Up Okta Verify on Your New Mobile Device

(If not already completed in Step 1 Option A or B)

  1. Go to: https://massmutual.okta.com on your laptop or desktop.

  2. Click your name > Settings > Security Methods

  3. Click Set Up next to Okta Verify.

  4. On your new device, open Okta Verify:

    • Tap Add Account > Organization > Scan QR Code

    • Allow Camera and Notifications if prompted

  5. Scan the QR code displayed on your computer screen to complete setup.

Step 3: Enroll Your New Device in Workspace ONE

  1. Install the Intelligent Hub app from your phone’s App Store or Google Play.

  2. Open the app and sign in with your @financialguide.com email.

  3. Follow the in-app prompts to complete setup.

    • Be sure to allow any requested permissions.

  4. Your work profile and apps will install once setup is complete.
